The Virginia Horse Center is the crowning jewel of Virginia’s $1B+ equine industry.  In Lexington, VA at the intersection of Interstates 81 and 64, the Horse Center serves as a venue for 100+ events annually.  The Horse Center operates as a 501©3 non-profit foundation run by our Board of Directors.
Our 600-acre facility includes a 4000-seat indoor arena, eight barns that can accommodate 1200 horses, nineteen show rings, two additional indoor arenas, an internationally rated cross-country and combined driving course, restaurants, campgrounds and shops.
As a locale for competition, education, and recreation, the

Upcoming Events at the Virginia Horse Center:
andalusian September 2-5: ERAHC Classic Open Dressage Show:  USDF/USEF "A" rated. Approved  for BLM Qualifying championships and GAIG Region I qualifying championships. Judges: Brian Ross "S" and Carter Bass "R".
September 3-4
:
  ERAHC Classic Andalusian and Lusitano Show. 
USEF/IALHA "A" rated. Our judge is the Honorable Wayne Hipsley. We will be Offering Qualifying classes for IALHA National Championship Show in October 2010. Featuring:  All  Ages of  Pure Andalusians/Lusitanos,and Half Andalusian's In-Hand, Equitation (all seats), Pleasure (Saddle Seat, Country, Hunt, & Western), Driving, Heritage/Native Attire, and Liberty.  New this year; Exhibition Classes open to ALL BREEDS; which feature, Working Equitation, Hunter Hack, Mounted Trail, In-Hand Trail, Walk/Trot Green Rider/Horse, Amateur/Youth Reining, and Costume Free Style.  Saturday Evening Exhibitions Free to the Public.
September 5
: ERAHC Classic ANCCE Show. 
This show is sanctioned by and held the guidelines of ANCCE (National Association of Purebred Spanish Horse  Breeders of Spain).  The show will be judged by an approved ANCCE Spanish Judge. The show is being sponsored in part by the USPRE Association. September 3 : The VMI Cross Country Relay Season Opener

September 3 - 5: Fall Arabian Classic

Arabian Horse Association rated, USDF rated, and USEF "A" rated Arabian, Half Arabian and Dressage horse show. Featured are Sport Horse, Dressage, Working Hunter, all seats of Equitation (hunt seat, reining seat, and saddle seat), Sidesaddle, Halter, Liberty, English & Country Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Native Costume, Trail, and Western Horsemanship competition. Highlights for Saturday evening include Mounted Native Costume, Liberty, Dog Races and Achievement Award Presentation with a reception. Admission is FREE! This show will be held in the East Complex. Old Time Music September 7: Old-Time Music Jam
Mountain music jam session honoring our mountain heritage. Musicians welcome to play and audience encouraged to dance and sing along. Concessions available. Sessions held the 2nd Tuesday of each month starting at 6pm.
Location: Anderson Coliseum, Work Horse Cafe.
quarterhorse September 9-12: Virginia Quarter Horse Association Breeder's Futurity
Quarter horses from around Virginia and surrounding states will compete in a wide range of halter and performance classes during this three-day show. This show will be located in the Anderson Coliseum, Ault Pavilion, Moore Arena. For additional information contact Dave Higgins at 434-315-4434.
