September 4 : The VMI Cross Country Relay Season Opener

Each school's team score will consist of 3 relay teams of two runners each. A total of 6 runners will make up the school's team score.

Times: 4pm College Women's 2x (2x1.5 mile relay); 5pm College Men's 2x (2x 2mile relay)

September 4 - 6: Fall Arabian Classic
Arabian Horse Association rated, USDF rated, and USEF "A" rated Arabian, Half Arabian and Dressage horse show. Featured are Sport Horse, Dressage, Working Hunter, all seats of Equitation (hunt seat, reining seat, and saddle seat), Sidesaddle, Halter, Liberty, English & Country Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Native Costume, Trail, and Western Horsemanship competition. Highlights for Saturday evening include Mounted Native Costume, Liberty, Dog Races and Achievement Award Presentation with a reception. Admission is FREE!

September 5 - 6: Fall Arabian Classic Open Hunter and Trail

This show is part of the Fall Arabian Classic. These classes are open to any breed of horse or pony. They are both rated with USEF. Numerous divisions are offered for the hunter; as well as a large assortment of Trail classes (both English and Western Trail offered).

September 5 - 6: Fall Arabian Classic Open Dressage Show
CBLM Championship Sanctioned, USDF rated, and USEF Open breed Dressage horse show. This show will also be one of the last qualifying shows for the CBLM Championships. See their website for further details on the championships at www.cblm.org. Two days of complete list of classes are offered.

September 4-6: Old Dominion Morgan Horse Show and Open Carriage Show
United States Equestrian Federation “A” rated horse includes breed and performance classes for Morgans, plus an open all-breed carriage driving show and arena driving trial. Carriage is open and ADS - a continuous drive to be held on Saturday, September 05. Dressage is also open and will be held on Friday, September 04.

September 8: Old Time Music Jam — LIVE from the Work Horse Cafe
Mountain music jam session honoring our mountain heritage. Musicians welcome to play and audience encouraged to dance and sing along. Concessions available. Sessions held the 2nd Tuesday of each month starting at 6pm.

September 10 – 13: Virginia Quarter Horse Association Breeder's Futurity
Hundreds of Quarter horses from around the country will take part in a wide variety of AQHA-recognized classes during this four-day Quarter Horse show.

Spend the afternoon riding your horse on the VHC trails and learning how to navigate with a map and compass. Instructor: Olin Bare, Lexington, VA. Compass and watch required.

September 13: Hear the Beat Horse Show - benefit for Hoofbeats Therapeutic Riding Center

September 17 – 20: Virginia 4-H State Championship Horse and Pony Show
One of the largest all-youth events on the east coast, this championship show will feature six-hundred youth riders competing in a full line-up of Hunter, Western, Dressage, Saddleseat and non-trotting classes.
