April 4:  Mounted Map and Orienteering Clinic
Spend the afternoon riding your horse on the VHC trails and learning how to navigate with a map and compass. Instructor: Olin Bare, Lexington, VA. Compass and watch required.

April 7 – 12: American Quarter Horse Association East Coast Championship Show
Largest Quarter Horse show on east coast featuring western pleasure, showmanship, trail, equitation, driving, halter, hunter and jumper classes, and special attractions.

April 14: Old Time Music Jam - LIVE from the Work Horse Cafe
Mountain music jam session honoring our mountain heritage. Musicians welcome to play and audience encouraged to dance and sing along. Concessions available. Sessions held the 2nd Tuesday of each month starting at 6pm.
Location: Anderson Coliseum, Work Horse Cafe.

 

April 17-18: Old Dominion Gaited Horse Association Classic Horse Show

April 17-18: Mid Atlantic Plantation Classic Horse Show

These shows will spotlight some of the best Tennessee Walking Horses and United Mountain Horsees the Mid-Atlantic has to offer. These 2 horse shows will run concurrently in the same arena, with 2 judges, 2 sets of ribbons, but just one low entry fee. Come out and enjoy the fun as an exhibitor or a spectator.

April 18 & 19: Old Dominion Region Pony Clubs Dressage Rally
Youth competition featuring members from various U.S. Pony Clubs throughout Virginia. Riders compete as members of 3 or 4 man teams. This is a closed competition for members of the USPC.
