VHCF Equestriennes Barn Tour, October 6, 2012
Experience some of the most beautiful, historic, and unique properties of Middlebrook, Lexington, Staunton and beyond by participating in the VHCF Equestriennes Fall Barn Tour. From 10am-4pm on Saturday, October 6, the properties will be open for visitation and for special demonstrations. All proceeds will benefit the Virginia Horse Center Foundation's "Turn Up the Lights" campaign to replace the lighting system in the Anderson Coliseum.
Trailer Safety Seminar, September 23, 2012. 1-4pm
This seminar will provide all attendees with extensive knowledge of trailer safety practices as well as offer real life demonstrations and the opportunity to try what you've learned in a driving test. A rough schedule is 1-2pm Trailers, Trucks, Tow Vehicle Overview, 2-3pm Using Trailers Safely with Demos of Real Horses, 3-4pm Practice with Professionals

VHCF Hall of Fame, June 16, 2012
In 2008, the Virginia Horse Center Foundation established the Hall of Fame to recognize exceptional service to the Foundation and its mission as well as the equine industry and the Rockbridge County community. Thousands of hours have been waged on behalf of the VHCF since its establishment in 1986. The Hall of Fame is one lasting way to express the organization’s gratitude for the time, talent, and support provided by these incredible individuals.
Thirty-nine remarkable leaders, advocates, and friends have been inducted to date. This year’s inductees include: Lloyd Craighill, Joe Fargis, Betty Oare, Dwight and Olivia Reed, and Kenny Wheeler, Sr who will be celebrated with a dinner on June 16, 2012 in the Appomattox Mezzanine.
Roast of Dr. Dan Flynn, April 27, 2012
During the Lexington Spring Premiere, co-hosts Dr. Reynolds Cowles and Mr. Ernie Oare and the VHCF are throwing a good hearted roast of Georgetown Equine Hospital's Dr. Dan Flynn. Friends, family, and clients acquired over his 54+ year career will join to socialize, commemorate, and raise funds for the VHCF. Tickets are $100 with tables of six available for $450. Protect Yourself with Knowledge Seminar, May 12, 2012
Women for VHCF presents a special seminar, "Know What You Don't Know - Protect Yourself Through Knowledge. Take Action," with attorney Kelly LaParr of Lenhart Obenshain and Gardy Bloemers of Merrill Lynch, both of Charlottesville.
Attendees will learn more about the Virginia Equine Liability Act, ways and means to financial freedom for women, and the ins and outs of farm and ranch trust management from 9:30am-1:30pm. Equine Parasites and Managing Dewormer Resistance Seminar, May 19, 2012
We are proud to partner with the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine to present a seminar focused on parasites and digestive health. Dr. Rebecca Funk and Dr. Anne Zajac will lead a three hour, content rich seminar from 1:30-4:30 in the Appomattox Mezzanine. Sessions include "Equine Parasites: The Basics," "The Problem of Dewormer Resistance," and "How to Manage Resistance."
